Our Story

Built on sweat, shaped by discipline, powered by community

WHERE IT ALL STARTED

"We didn't build this place to be another gym. We built it 'cause we needed it ourselves."

The Real Deal

Look, I'm not gonna feed you some polished story about "lifelong dreams" or whatever. Truth is, back in 2019, me and a couple training partners got tired of bouncing between gyms that either had zero actual fight experience or treated athletes like walking wallets. We were paying good money to train in spaces that didn't get what serious combat athletes actually need.

So we pooled our cash, found this warehouse space on Seymour, and started building. Literally - we installed the cage ourselves, hung the bags, painted the walls at 2AM after working day jobs. It wasn't pretty at first but it was OURS, y'know? A place where you could train hard without someone trying to upsell you protein shakes every five minutes.

Word spread fast in the Vancouver fight scene. Fighters started showing up. Then regular folks who just wanted to train like fighters. Then athletes from other sports who heard we actually knew what we're doing with strength and conditioning. Now we've got everyone from pro MMA guys to desk workers who wanna feel dangerous for an hour.

What makes us different? We don't do the corporate gym nonsense. No mirrors everywhere so you can flex. No juice bar with smoothies that cost fifteen bucks. Just solid equipment, coaches who've actually been in the ring, and people who show up to work. That's the realm we built.

Training Session

Our Mission (No BS Version)

Give people access to legit combat training and performance coaching without the gatekeeping or the price tags that make you wince. Whether you're stepping into a cage next month or just wanna stop feeling winded going up stairs, you deserve quality coaching. We're here to make sure you get it - and actually enjoy the process instead of dreading every session.

Every person who walks through our doors becomes part of something bigger than a gym membership. You're joining a community that'll push you, call you out when you're slacking, and celebrate when you finally nail that combo you've been working on for weeks. That's what the "Realm" means - it's our space, our rules, our people.

Exercise science degree plus certifications I've actually used in the real world. Worked with college athletes and pro fighters for eight years. I design all our S&C programs and handle performance training. My job's making sure you're strong, fast, and can actually last more than two rounds without gassing out. Science-based but practical - no weird Instagram exercises here.

Jamie Park

JAMIE PARK

Nutrition Specialist

Registered dietitian who actually trains, which makes a difference when you're telling someone what to eat. Worked with weight-class athletes for years, so I know all about making weight without feeling like death. I do nutrition coaching and meal planning - realistic stuff you'll actually stick to, not some insane chicken-and-broccoli-only diet.

Alex Rodriguez

ALEX RODRIGUEZ

Recovery & Mobility Specialist

Licensed physiotherapist and certified mobility coach. Been working with combat athletes for twelve years. I run our recovery sessions and mobility classes - basically I'm here to keep you moving and fix you when training beats you up. Former wrestler, so I get what your body goes through. Come see me before something minor becomes a real problem.

Group Training

Why People Stick Around

We're not gonna pretend we're perfect. Equipment breaks sometimes. Classes get packed during peak hours. The parking situation kinda sucks. But here's what we DO have - coaches who remember your name and your goals, training partners who become actual friends, and an atmosphere where putting in work gets respected more than how much you can bench.

People stay 'cause they see results, yeah, but also 'cause this place feels different. No egos at the door. Beginners get the same attention as our competitive fighters. You can train hard without someone breathing down your neck about upgrading your membership. It's straightforward - you show up, you train, you get better. That's the deal.

JOIN THE REALM

The Obsidrix Philosophy

These aren't just words on a wall - they're how we actually run things around here

TRAIN WITH PURPOSE

Every session should have a point. We're not here to just burn calories or kill time - we're building skills, strength, and confidence that carries beyond these walls.

RESPECT THE PROCESS

Nobody walks in here a champion. Progress takes time and consistent work. We celebrate small wins 'cause that's how big wins happen.

LEAVE EGO OUTSIDE

Doesn't matter what you did before or who you think you are. On our mats, everyone's here to learn and improve. Help each other or get out of the way.

SHOW UP CONSISTENTLY

Talent's overrated. The people who actually get good are the ones who keep showing up even when they don't feel like it. Consistency beats everything.
